In Memory of Dr. Eva Maria Buch-Kiljanska

November 23, 1940 – July 31, 2015

On Friday, November 20^th, 2015, family, friends and colleagues gathered at the Polish Museum of America for an unforgettable evening in celebration of the life of Dr. Eva Maria Buch. The evening featured several speeches in honor of Dr. Buch. Speakers included Dr. Buch’s children, Dr. Kornelia Król, the president of the Polish American Medical Society, Mrs. Dorothy Malachowski, president of the Gift from the Heart Foundation, Mrs. Małgorzata Kot, Director of the Polish Museum of America and Dr. Steven C. Marquardt, Dr. Buch’s former colleague. Together, the speakers shared memories of Dr. Buch’s exceptional dedication to medicine, philanthropy and the arts, as well as her unmatched passions for adventure and celebration. The evening also featured a private concert by Dr. Buch’s favorite local band, Pawel Pospieszalski and Alex Babiy.

Dr. Buch was deeply involved with the Polish American Medical Society for many years. She served as secretary for the executive board for 8 years.

She will be remembered as a prominent pediatric anesthesiologist, wife, mother, friend and colleague.

Dr. Buch was a truly exceptional member of our community and will be dearly missed. A memorial fund has been set up in her honor. The proceeds will be directed to the Polish American Medical Society to fund a scholarship and help support activities at the Polish Museum of America.
