The largest business meeting in Central Europe was held in Krynica–Zdroj, Poland from September 8-10, 2015. Participants included more them 3,000 guests, who represented over 60 countries from Europe, Asia and the Americas. Among them, the forum welcomed presidents from several EU countries, commissioners, CEO’s of large international corporations, as well as leaders from different social, cultural and professional organizations.
President of PAMS, Dr. Kornelia Krol, was invited to attend the forum by “Stowarzyszenie Wspolnota Polska.” She was honored to participate in the discussion forum “How to achieve success abroad and to inspire others in Poland.” Fellow participants in this panel included: Halina Csucs, member of the Hungarian Parliament, Marek Patecki, owner of KIA Motors in Poland, Janusz Mroczka, Stowarzyszenie Wspolnota Polska, and representatives from Polbusiness in Ireland.
Dr. Krol discussed the many differences between graduate and postgraduate medical training in Poland in comparison to the United States. Additionally, she was asked about recent healthcare industry changes in America. Dr. Krol also described recent projects started by PAMS this year, including successfully establishing a medical subspecialty fellowship training program at The University of Chicago for a urologist from Poland. This project is sponsored by PAMS, Kosciuszko Foundation, and Stowarzyszenie Wspolnota Polska.
Finally, Dr. Krol discussed PAMS’ role and involvement with other areas of cooperation between Medical Institutions in Poland and the United States. Most recently, PAMS facilitated cooperation between Medicover Hospital in Warsaw and The University of Chicago Medicine. As a result, the Medicover American Clinic opened last month in Warsaw.
PAMS was invited to Krynica next year to participate in forum discussions pertaining to Health Care industry issues in Poland.
