Dear Members and Friends,
It is with great pleasure and pride that we congratulate Prof. Maria Siemionow, Board Member of the Polish American Medical Society, on being selected as the recipient of the prestigious Medawar Prize, awarded by The Transplantation Society.
The Medawar Prize, named after Society’s co-founder and a Nobel Prize Laureate Sir Peter Medawar, is widely recognized as the world’s highest dedicated award for outstanding contributions to the field of transplantation. The prize has been awarded at each of The Transplantation Society’s biennial Congresses since 1990.
With its extraordinary prestige and international influence, the Medawar Prize recognizes investigators whose contributions have had a profound and lasting impact on the field of organ transplantation. It is considered among the most distinguished international honors for scientific achievement.
Since its inception, the Medawar Prize has been awarded to 40 distinguished recipients. Prof. Maria Siemionow is the first Polish scientist and only the third woman to receive this exceptional honor.
Prof. Siemionow will be attending the award ceremony, which will take place during the 31st International Congress of The Transplantation Society in Sydney, Australia. As she stands among the world’s leading figures in transplantation, we join her in celebrating this remarkable achievement and congratulate her wholeheartedly on this extraordinary recognition of her outstanding contributions to medicine and science.
Congratulations, Professor Siemionow! We are immensely proud of you and your historic achievement.
With our warmest congratulations,
Polish American Medical Society
