2025 Honorary Member Announcement: Prof. Waldemar Kostewicz

It is with great pride that we announce Prof. Waldemar Kostewicz as an honorary member of the Polish American Medical Society. Prof. Kostewicz’s exceptional leadership and dedication have left a lasting legacy in medicine. As a General, Laparoscopic, and Vascular Surgeon, he served as Head of Vascular and General Surgery and stands as a pioneer of laparoscopic surgery in Poland. Prof. Kostewicz is also a founding member of the Polish Society for Vascular Surgery and currently leads as President of the Polish Medical Association.
His contributions include co-authoring Poland’s first handbook on laparoscopic surgery, founding “Surgical Thursdays” which trained over 6,500 students, and earning honors such as the Gold Cross of Merit and Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
